The annual Beachley Old Boys' Association reunion was held at the Chepstow Hotel over the weekend of 17/18/19 September 2010 and was attended by 150 old boys plus partners. An Army Apprentice National Memorial display was set up in the hotel foyer by the Chairman, David Chapman, and Colin Weir. The display created plenty of interest and to date has resulted in a further eighteen commemorative tablet applications. A raffle was also held over the weekend raising £327 for the appeal. A number of raffle prizes were donated by Mr Brian Goll of 55A Group, while a further five prizes were pairs of tickets to the AANM Dedication Day scheduled for 7th September 2011.

David Chapman made a presentation to the AGM of BOBA on Saturday 18th September, bringing the membership up to date on the AANM project. He then proposed that BOBA should donate £5,000 to the appeal fund and this was then carried unanimously by the membership present. A further proposal that BOBA should fund a commemorative tablet for Rocky Evershed, late Membership Secretary of BOBA was also carried unanimously.

The fund is now growing rapidly towards the £60,000 target with £52,7000 (Mid October) already donated including 415 commemorative tablets.

7th Sept 2010 - AANM Committee Meeting at NMA Alrewas

The Memorial Appeal Fund needs in excess of £60,000

The Fund needs in excess of £60,000, to include an additional sum to allow the AANM to join an official scheme to provide perpetual maintainance of the erected memorial and surround, without recourse to the Associations. This will ensure the memorial will be kept in pristine condition into the distant future. There is still a strong demand for commemorative tablets which has now been capped at 531 total (AANM Trustee's meeting 14th Dec 2010) because of construction considerations.
